Honey

Forest House honey is raw, unfiltered, and gathered straight from our forest. Our bees forage within about two miles of their hives, so each jar is filled with the nectar of maple, alder, blackberry, and other native forest plants—kept as pure and untouched by pollution or human interference as we can possibly make it.

Our honey is truly special. Each year we keep just one or two hives, and at the height of summer each hive holds about 50,000 bees. Every worker bee produces only 1/12 of a teaspoon of honey in her lifetime, so a single jar of Forest House Farm honey represents the lifetime work of roughly 2,750 bees.

We reserve just a small share of our yearly honey harvest to offer, and we’re grateful to share this rare, special treat with you.
